how do I give into Everyday Champions?
There are many ways to give into Everyday Champions
1. Online – you can give online via our website. Just follow the instructions
2. Church Suite – you can give via your smartphone/tablet through Church Suite. If you haven’t got access to this and would like it, then please email into email@example.com so that this can be sorted for you
3. Card, Cash or Cheque on a Sunday via a Giving Envelope – you can fill out a Giving Envelope in one of our Communities at our Gatherings each Sunday
4. Standing Orders – You can set up a Standing Order with your bank so that you can automate your giving each month. This is really simple to do and if you would like the bank details for Everyday Champions in order to set this up then please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Does Everyday Champions incur a cost if I give by Card or Online:
If you give by Cash, Cheque or by Standing Order then there is no cost to Everyday Champions.
If you choose to give by card on the giving envelope or online, then there is a small cost that Everyday Champions incurs. This is due to card processing fees and “app” fees. If you give online, you have the option to pay these costs instead of Everyday Champions.
Is it simple to set up a Standing Order or a regular donation online:
Yes, it is!
With standing orders, you are in complete control. You can set this up directly with your bank through online banking or by speaking to your bank. You then can set the date that you wish for the standing order to come out, the frequency with which it comes out and the amount. You are then able to amend this easily but increasing the amount, changing the date or the frequency or cancelling this all together.
To set a regular donation online, you can do this either via a Direct Debit with your bank details or through a regular card payment. Simply go to our website www.everydaychampions.tv and click “Giving”. Then follow the instructions on the screen. If you wish to change this regular donation in any way, then you can do this by either contacting email@example.com or you can do this via Church Suite.
What is Church Suite:
Church Suite is the system which Everyday Champions has chosen to use. Church Suite is available online or via an App for your Smartphone/Table.
We use this system for rotas, events and for giving. You can manage your personal giving through Church Suite and your Gift Aid status. Through this system, you can set up regular or one-off donations, you can manage your Gift Aid Status and you can also view your Giving Statement to show you how much you have given over the course of the year and to what.
If you would like access to Church Suite then please email into firstname.lastname@example.org and we can arrange for you to be sent an invitation.
GIFT AID FAQs:
What is Gift Aid:
Gift Aid is a means by which charities can claim an extra 25p for every £1.
As a Charity, Everyday Champions will be able to claim this as long as your donations qualify. Your donations will qualify as long as they are not more than 4 times what you have paid in tax in that tax year. The tax could have been paid on income or through capital gains.
Does this cost me anything:
No, this won’t cost you anything extra! And in fact is beneficial to you if you are a high rate tax payer.
How do I Gift Aid my giving:
You will need to fill out a Gift Aid Declaration with Everyday Champions. You can do this either by requesting a form from email@example.com or by filling out an envelope on a Sunday and popping it in the offering.
What does “Backdating my Gift Aid” mean:
When you fill out the Gift Aid declaration, you have the option to backdate your Gift Aid for all of the donations you have given into Everyday Champions for the last 4 years. This means that if Everyday Champions was not claiming Gift Aid for your giving, that we now can – once you have filled out a Gift Aid Declaration.
What if I stop paying tax for any reason:
If you stop paying tax, you need to ensure that you advise Everyday Champions that this is the case so that we can stop claiming this. To do this, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org
I am a Higher Rate Tax Payer; how does Gift Aid affect me:
If you pay tax at the higher or additional rate, you can claim the difference between the rate you pay and the basic rate on your donation. You will need to do this direct with the HMRC yourself via a self-assessment tax return or by contacting the HMRC to amend your tax code.
I am a Pensioner; how does Gift Aid affect me:
As a pensioner, you may still pay tax on a private pension plan or savings account, or capital gains tax if you sell property or shares. If this is the case, then we can still claim gift aid on your donations.
Income from a state pension alone is unlikely to qualify you for being able to gift aid as you would still need to earn above the personal allowance threshold to pay income tax. If this is your only income, then you would need to check with your tax office before completing a declaration.
